The building access control device controls the timetable and the access of University employees through the use of Smart Card technology.

Each terminal embraces a distributed architecture that allows for the establishment and carrying out of building access policies, as well as a personalized timetable control.

Such devices allow the opening of doors. Moreover, other functions, such as illumination, alarm systems, and presence control, could be carried out by configuring the respective functions to fit the system needs.

This is completely based on JAVA technology. Operating within a Unix system, an application using JavaCom, JavaCard, OCF, JINI, SSL, technologies is defined to provide security and feasibility to the system.
